Planning a Family Safari

A family safari will give you the opportunity to create memories to last a lifetime. From unique home-away-from-home accommodations to exclusive stays in some of Africa’s most comfortable lodges, your very own guides, and activities for everyone, we’ll make sure every detail is handled so that you can enjoy quality time together and make this your best family holiday ever!

What could be more exciting for a child than spotting their first leopard, learning how to throw a Maasai spear, roasting marshmallows over a campfire to the calls of distant lions, gaining bushcraft knowledge, or seeing a mother cheetah with her cubs? Many camps offer special programs for kids, filled with fun, interactive activities that offer opportunities to learn and discover new experiences and cultures.

Because young children have different needs, abilities, and interests than their more mature family members, we’ll be sure to match you with camps and lodges that offer a range of services and activities for all ages. Some camps accept all ages while others have minimum age requirements, and certain activities, such as gorilla trekking, canoeing, and walking safaris are only permitted for ages 16 and up.

If you’re looking for ultimate flexibility and exclusivity, taking over an entire camp or staying in private villas is a wonderful way to make your time together even more special. Or, if you have smaller family, many camps have family tents with adjacent rooms that are also a great option.

Over the years, our team has planned many multi-generational safaris and we’d love to help you design the perfect holiday in Africa for your family!

Check out this sample itinerary, designed especially for multi-generational families traveling together. Here, you’ll find diverse environments, wildlife big and small, luxury accommodation, and plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
