TRAVEL EXTENSIONS - TOURS & SAFARIS

Southern Africa offers an incredible diversity of adventures just waiting for you to discover.

For those who have the time, we encourage you to explore the region by booking a safari in Botswana, South Africa or Zambia.  Consider also the vibrant, ocean-side atmosphere of Cape Town.  The deserts and coastline of Namibia offer yet another fascinating and lovely option.

We have partnered with several operators in southern Africa to provide a considerable array of destinations and activities. Please also utilize the Eyes on Africa links at the bottom of all pages on this web site for even more options.

As with the daily activities during the conference, we have limited space at many of the safari camps and they will go quickly... we strongly encourage you to reserve your pre- or post-meeting tours with us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.  Please use our Reservations Form to start the reservations process.

Following are our suggestions for pre- and post-travel tours and safaris:

Cheetahs are commonly seen on safaris to BotswanaBotswana is one of Africa's biggest success stories.  Prior to its independence in 1996, it was among the poorest nations in the world and a land which remained mostly unexplored.  The discovery of rich diamond reserves and the development of its tourism industry has catipulted Botswana from poverty.

Today Botswana is renowned for its luxury tented safari camps and huge concessions of wilderness land combined with very low tourist densities, making for a private safari experience. The safari vehicles used in Botswana are modified, open-air Land Rovers, which also adds to the intimacy of the adventure.

Botswana has protected 37% of its land as National Parks or Wildlife Management Areas. Its strong conservation policies and minimal population pressure have given Botswana its unique position for sustained ecotourism.

We offer both Premier and Classic options for 3 and 5-day safaris.  We will also gladly customize a safari package for you.

Buffalo bull - South Africa safariSouth Africa is known as a "world in one country" and with good reason.  The country has a spectacular assortment of habitats, from lush, tropical forests to arid deserts, from mountains to open grasslands and the bushveld.   Since the end of apartheid and its first democratic elections in 1994, it has become one of the world's top travel destinations.

Visitors can combine a big game viewing safari in remote wilderness areas with the beaches and wine country of the Western Cape, the Garden Route along the country's south coast, and the modern cities and hotels that compete with the best in the world.  With 11 official languages and a diverse range of cultures and lifestyles, it is no surprise that Nelson Mandela named South Africa "the rainbow nation."

We offer both Premier and Classic safari options for 3 and 5-day safaris to South Africa.  We will also gladly customize a safari package for you.
