Hansa Hotel, Swakopmund, Namibia

The Hansa Hotel dates back to 1905 and is one of the oldest hotels in Swakopmund. Its history is reflected in its charming architecture and the hospitality of its friendly staff.

The location is superb as it is centrally located in this unique west coast town, with short access to most of the town’s attractions.

The hotel is comprised of 52 rooms and 4 suites, all individually decorated – some with street views and others facing the garden or inner courtyard. All rooms are en-suite, with under floor heating for the cool winters, television, tea/coffee facilities, and hairdryer and safe.

The hotel’s restaurant is well known throughout Namibia, serving excellent Namibian seafood and game. The bar is a popular spot for sundowners.

Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre, Swakopmund, Namibia

The Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre is built on the site of the old Station Building of Swakopmund dating back to 1901. This original building forms the iconic and impressive frontage of the hotel. Extensive renovations were completed in 1994 and today this is still a high quality 4-star hotel in Victorian style on the exterior and modern comforts in the interior.

The hotel has 88 rooms and 2 luxury suites. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms (with bath, shower and toilet), individual air-conditioning, tea/coffee station, electronic safes, mini-bar, hair-dryers and an 8 channel satellite TV system.

There is an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.

Guests may choose to dine at the Platform One restaurant with buffet and a la carte menus or at the very popular Station Grill restaurant next to the Mermaid Casino, where excellent seafood is always on offer.

The entertainment centre comprises of the casino, 2 cinemas, a video arcade and small shopping mall as well as the Tavern, a lively action bar with entertainment and dancing.

The Stiltz Guesthouse, Swakopmund, Namibia

The Stiltz is a unique Bed and Breakfast establishment for a number of reasons ….

• It directly overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, the Swakop River bed, the sand dunes and the bird-rich lagoon of the Swakop River mouth.
• Each of the 9 private bungalows is raised on stilts, which are interlinked by wooden walkways.
• There is one luxury villa which accommodates up to 6 people with enormous picture windows and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
• The bathrooms in all rooms have rosewood door frames, terracotta floor tiles and walls of coloured steel sheeting

The Stiltz is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Swakopmund – where the popular restaurants, The Tug and Die Kelder, offer relaxed and enjoyable Namibian food and wine.

The Stiltz offers breakfast and a laundry service.

All of the bungalows have en-suite bathrooms, with a shower, mini-bar, a tea/coffee station, room safe, and heaters and electric blankets for those chilly nights when the fog pours in from the Atlantic. All rooms have private balconies with ocean, dunes, or lagoon views.

For safety reasons, most of the accommodation of this lodge (with the exception of the Villa) is not suitable for children under 12.
