Kenya & Seychelles
Take an exciting safari in Kenya, visiting two very different regions to explore the county’s diverse habitats, scenery, wildlife, and cultures. Fly to Laikipia, a stark but beautiful area and enjoy game drives and cultural encounters, as well as some unique and memorable accommodations, before heading to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s premier wildlife park- part of the world-famous Serengeti-Mara ecosystem – with a great abundance and diversity of animals. Then head to the Seychelles, for pristine beaches, turquoise seas, and exquisite hotels, a peaceful and sublime end to your African adventure.
Arrive in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, a large, bustling city with a wide range of accommodations. Spend your first night here, acclimating to the time change, and if time permits you may enjoy a city tour and visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Giraffe Center.
Fly to Laikipia
Take a light aircraft flight to one of Kenya’s most beautiful and unique regions, Laikipia, with amazing views, striking landscapes, exceptional wildlife viewing, fascinating cultural encounters and a wide array of activities. This region has some wonderful, intimate, and exclusive accommodations- huge private cattle ranches which are also home to wild animals. The experiences here are very special, offering the ultimate blend of luxury and nature. In addition to game drives, you can take bush walks, go mountain biking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding, visit villages, or head out on a ‘camel safari’ into the wilderness. Some camps allow guests to witness special tribal ceremonies, such as the “singing wells”, or sleep on Star Beds under the endless starry African night sky.
Fly to Masai Mara
Fly to the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. This vast wilderness is Kenya’s most famous park, and with good reason – with endless plains that are home to more than 95 species of mammals – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, hippo, monkeys, etc. etc., as well as more than 470 species of birds. ‘The Mara’ offers the quintessential safari to satisfy any nature lover and photographer year ‘round. It is also host to the annual seasonal Great Migration, an amazing spectacle of an ancient mass migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebra arrive from Tanzania in search of greener pastures. You have to see it to believe it! In addition to game drives, at certain lodges and camps you can take a bush walk, go horseback riding, or watch animals from a unique point of view, drifting above the plains at sunrise in a hot air balloon, followed by a champagne breakfast!
Overnight in Nairobi
Return to Nairobi for an overnight before heading to the Seychelles the next day.
Bush to Beach
End your African adventure with a flight to one of the most beautiful beach destinations in the world, the Seychelles, an archipelago of more than 100 islands just off the East African coast. The Seychelles is well known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, colorful marine life, nature reserves, luxury accommodations, and a fascinating mix of cultures, along with their tasty cuisines – African, Chinese, English, French and Indian flavors with rich Creole influences. You can stay on one of the three main islands- Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, or the exclusive and sublime and very luxurious private islands, most of which can only be reached by private helicopter – Fregate, Denis, North Island, Cousine, to name just a few – some with just 4 villas on the whole island! No matter where you stay, you can enjoy the sun and the sea, with excursions to lush forests, secluded coves, soft sandy beaches, small villages, biking, hiking, and bird watching, or just lying by the beach or ocean with a cool breeze, good book, and dreams of your next trip to Africa.
It is time to leave paradise, flying back to Kenya to catch your international flight home.
