The Selinda Canoe Trail offers one of the rarest experiences in Africa – this is a 4 day/3 night adventure that is one of the best of its kind to be experienced in the region and currently the only canoe trail in Botswana.
Weaving through the waterways of the Selinda Spillway which joins the Okavango Delta and Linyanti Rivers of north east Botswana, this epic journey covers over 40 miles of uninhabited wilderness.
Wildlife along the waterways is prolific and birdlife will have even the least enthusiastic birder fascinated by the diversity.
The Selinda Canoe Trail operates each year from late May to early October, with weekly departures. Small groups of canoeists (8 maximum) paddle in sturdy Canadian canoes, stopping by the river banks to discover wildlife on impromptu walks with experienced local guides.
Each evening is spent under the stars on one of the Spillway islands, at a camp prepared and hosted by staff. Small tents are very comfortably equipped with camp bedding, fresh linen and shared shower and toilet facilities. Meals are freshly prepared, and dinners accompanied by good local wines and beer.
