BOTSWANA - Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, Okavango Delta
Sandibe is located in the south eastern Okavango Delta on the southern tip of Chief's Island, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve and within the Santantadibe River system. Sandibe has exclusive traversing rights over approximately 168 square miles of wilderness. Its sight was chosen for its prime location on the permanent Delta and its proximity to the game-rich grassy plains.
Camouflaged under a canopy of wild palms and gnarled fig leaves, the camp is located on the edge of the Delta’s waterways. The sounds of Africa are magical - elephants move through the quiet waters, baboons chatter and a myriad birds call from the surrounding trees.
ACCOMMODATION:
Sandibe is an intimate eight roomed camp. Wooden decks leading from all rooms have hammocks slung in the dappled shade for a welcoming midday siesta. The camp's sunny pool offers relief from the midday heat and the bar adjoining is always open to offer refreshments. Open sided sitting and dining areas draw eyes outward to dazzling plains and reeded river banks. Relax over scrumptious meals in the dining room, while animals wander only metres away or enjoy the cosy shelter of the fire-lit boma as thousands of stars light up the African sky.
ACTIVITIES AND WILDLIFE:
Guests here enjoy day and night game drives, bush walks and mokoro and powerboat cruises on the Delta.
